It was the first days of summer
The rain pouring down
And without commitments
We rode out under the showering sky

And swam in rivers
And climbed rooftops
And at night, the bright northern night;
Endless soccer games
We watched a band
Sing "fuck 1992"
And we thought we agreed
And felt so united
But in retrospect it was so naive
We hung out at favorite corners
Boys chasing girls
And a little money burning in our pockets
And when the sky cleared at night
We climbed mountains
And at the top of the world
A bunch of friends
And a sun that never set

Waiting for my final spring
Branches, leaves, sadness, sun and rain
Come batter me again with your old and cold
Glass lies shattered on the kitchen floor
Photograps in circled frames
Smashed and torn and the times and the memories reborn
The cupboard hides the dead that haunts me still
and the journey of our love, of my life, is halting more
So we ran out into springtime once more
Into the springtime knife!
And upon arriving we saw skulls through eyes filled with sadness
Through eyes without tears
Saw that autumn had come back
In the middle of spring
To take it all away
To shower me with pain
To end it all
